What We Build

Remodeling and Construction Services for Southern California Homes

From a single bathroom to a ground-up custom home, every project we take on is designed, permitted and built by one accountable team. Each service is adapted to the realities of building in Los Angeles: coastal salt air, canyon winds, Valley heat and some of the most demanding building departments in the country.

The Short Answer

Elliott Construction Group provides whole-house remodeling, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home additions, ADU construction, custom home building, outdoor living spaces, and fire rebuilds with wildfire home hardening. Every service is delivered under one contract with a dedicated project manager, a fixed-price proposal, permit management and a written workmanship warranty.

Choose Your Project

Most of our clients come to us with one project in mind and a few others in the back of their head. Start with the service closest to what you are planning. Each page explains what is included, how the work is affected by local conditions, what drives cost and timeline, and the questions homeowners ask us most often.

One Team, One Contract, One Point of Contact

Large residential projects usually involve a dozen or more trades, several consultants and at least one building department. When those pieces are managed by different companies, small gaps turn into delays and change orders. We solve that by keeping the whole project under one roof.

Your project manager coordinates design decisions, engineering, permits, ordering and every trade on site. Our proposals are fixed-price and line-item, so you can see exactly what is included before work begins, and any change you request is priced and approved in writing before it is built. That structure is the same whether we are remodeling a powder room or building a new home.

Built for Los Angeles Conditions

The same kitchen or addition needs different materials and details depending on where your home sits. A house a few blocks from the beach in Santa Monica faces completely different challenges from a hillside home in Brentwood or a ranch house in Thousand Oaks. We adjust every scope of work for its location:

  • Coastal homes in Malibu, Santa Monica, Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey get salt-air-rated hardware, stainless steel fasteners, sealed exterior assemblies and moisture-smart ventilation, because the spring and early-summer marine layer keeps surfaces damp for weeks. Where a property sits in the coastal zone, we also plan for a Coastal Development Permit from the start.
  • Canyon and hillside homes in Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Topanga and Bel Air get fire-resistant Chapter 7A construction where required, wind-rated openings for Santa Ana events, and drainage and slope design that can handle concentrated winter storms.
  • Valley homes in Encino, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village get heat-load design, high-performance glazing, exterior shading and efficient heat-pump systems for late-summer heat waves that regularly pass 100°F.
  • Every home is designed to California’s 2025 Energy Code, which applies to additions and alterations with permit applications filed on or after January 1, 2026. We plan heat-pump water heating, efficient lighting and code-compliant ventilation into the design from day one instead of discovering them at plan check.
Expert Tip: Time Your Project to the Rain Calendar

Los Angeles gets almost all of its rain between late November and March, and very little from May through October. If your project opens the roof or exterior walls, such as an addition, a second story or a whole-house remodel, aim to start construction in spring so the structure is framed, roofed and closed in before the first winter storm. Interior projects like kitchens and bathrooms can start in any month. Because permits often take several months, the best time to begin design for a spring start is the previous summer or fall.

What Drives the Cost of a Project

Homeowners understandably want a number early, and we are happy to talk through realistic budget ranges during your consultation. The honest answer is that cost depends far more on a handful of decisions than on square footage alone. These are the factors that move a budget the most:

  1. Structural changes. Removing load-bearing walls, adding steel beams or building up a second story adds engineering, materials and inspection time.
  2. Systems you touch. New electrical service, re-piping, HVAC replacement and the energy-code upgrades that come with them are often a larger share of the budget than the finishes you see.
  3. Site conditions. Hillside access, coastal exposure, fire hazard zones, older foundations and limited street parking all add cost and time.
  4. Finish level and lead times. Custom cabinetry, natural stone, imported tile and specialty glazing look extraordinary but take longer to source and install.
  5. Permitting path. A simple interior permit and a Coastal Development Permit with design review are very different processes, with very different timelines.

Our proposals break these items out line by line, so you can see where the money goes and decide where to invest and where to save.

Not Sure Which Service You Need?

Many projects combine two or three services. A kitchen remodel often grows into a kitchen and family-room addition once we look at the floor plan together, and a backyard ADU is frequently paired with new outdoor living space. The best place to start is a conversation about how you want to live in the home, not a list of rooms. Our consultation is free, and it usually clarifies the right scope within the first visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services does Elliott Construction Group offer?

We offer whole-house remodeling, kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, home additions, ADU construction, custom home building, outdoor living spaces, and fire rebuilds with wildfire home hardening across Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Do you handle design as well as construction?

Yes. Our in-house design consultants help with layouts, materials and finishes, and we also build from plans prepared by independent architects and interior designers.

Can you combine several projects into one contract?

Yes. Combining projects, such as a kitchen remodel with an addition, often saves time and money because demolition, permits, engineering and trades are coordinated once instead of twice.

Do you provide fixed-price proposals?

Yes. After design, we provide a detailed, line-item, fixed-price proposal. Any changes requested during construction are priced and approved in writing before the work is done.
